Moustaqim is placed under the editorial supervision of Samir Seduk, who holds a Master's degree in Sharia (Islamic sciences) and also has university training in the Arabic language.
His role covers the selection of sources, the synthesis of content, its structuring and adaptation, and the overall editorial consistency of the site.
Moustaqim does not present its published content as the personal religious opinions of its editorial supervisor. The project primarily aims to organize, synthesize and make more easily accessible knowledge drawn from a vast Islamic corpus.
Moustaqim's content is not original research. It is produced from a vast Islamic documentary corpus, following a multi-step methodology.
Research in Islamic works and corpora relevant to each topic, drawing on large digitized Islamic libraries.
Useful passages and information are selected according to the topic.
When several sources are available, the relevant information can be brought together and organized to obtain a consistent presentation.
Information is synthesized so that readers do not have to consult a very large number of works to understand the essentials of a subject.
Material taken from the works is not simply reproduced in the order of the sources. It can be grouped, hierarchized, reformulated, contextualized, structured into sections, turned into FAQs and organized for teaching purposes.
Content is adapted to Moustaqim's format and to the reader's language.
The overall consistency of the content and its presentation is placed under the editorial supervision of Samir Seduk.
Moustaqim is not intended to create a new religious doctrine or to issue new legal opinions. The site is above all a work of documentation, selection, synthesis, structuring, transmission and accessibility.
A large part of the documentary material used comes from existing Islamic works, classical and contemporary, as well as other sources presented in the "Documentary corpus" section below.
When content reflects the opinion of a particular author, jurist, school or scholar, it is not presented as the personal opinion of Moustaqim or of its editorial supervisor.
When several recognized positions exist and this divergence helps understand the subject, Moustaqim seeks not to turn a documented divergence into an artificial consensus.
Content on Moustaqim is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It does not constitute personalized religious guidance, legal advice or a fatwa. For a specific case or an important decision, readers should consult a qualified scholar or a competent body.
The Quran and the Sunnah remain the primary reference in all matters. If any content published on Moustaqim (selection, synthesis, adaptation or translation) were to conflict with the Quran and the Sunnah, that content is what should be set aside, not the revealed texts. Likewise, what the cited scholars actually said prevails over the way it is presented on the site: should a Moustaqim synthesis differ from a scholar's reported statement, the scholar's statement is what should be retained.
Moustaqim takes great care in selecting, synthesizing and presenting its content. Content may nevertheless contain errors or inaccuracies and is subject to change. The site editor, Tayba, LLC, cannot be held liable for decisions made on the sole basis of this content.
When content reports the position of an author, jurist, school or scholar, that position belongs to its author and is cited as a reference.
Moustaqim has no open user-contributed space: all content is written, reviewed and validated internally before publication. Any report (error, inaccuracy, inappropriate or harmful content) may be sent to [email protected]; the reported content is then reviewed and, where appropriate, corrected or removed promptly.
Content is published for documentary and educational purposes and must not be used to promote hatred, violence or discrimination against anyone.
The site structure, syntheses, translations and layouts published by Moustaqim are protected by copyright; any substantial reproduction without prior authorization is prohibited. The works cited in the documentary corpus remain the property of their respective authors and publishers.
