Definition of Rtaʿ

Al-rat': originally, animals' grazing.

One says 'rata'a yarta'u'.

Allah says: 'Let him graze (yarta') and play' (Yûsuf: 12).

Joseph's brothers wanted to take him to play and enjoy.
