Definition of Qṣim

Al-Qaṣm refers to violent breaking.

The Almighty says: 'How many unjust cities have We shattered' (Al-Anbiya 11).

Qaṣama ash-shay' means to break and destroy it completely.

Al-qāṣimah is the calamity that breaks.
