Definition of Whaj

Al-Wahaj refers to intense brightness accompanied by heat.

The Almighty says: 'And We made a burning lamp' (An-Naba 13), meaning the sun which illuminates and warms.

As-Siraj al-Wahhaj is the sun in all its luminous and thermal splendor.
