Definition Al-mnkhfḍa

Al-mnkhfḍa according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

They are the letters that are opposed to the letters of elevation (al-musta'liyah), because the tongue does not elevate toward the palate during their pronunciation, unlike what happens with the letters of elevation.
