Al-mnafsa according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)
Striving to attain a good similar to that which another has reached.
Al-mnafsa according to At-Tawqif (Al-Munawi)
Striving against the self to resemble the virtuous and join them without causing harm to others.
