Definition Al-mumtanʿ

Al-mumtanʿ according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

It is that whose non-existence in external reality is necessary. If it is required by the essence, then it is so.

Al-mumtanʿ according to Maqalid al-'Ulum (As-Suyuti)

That whose essence necessitates its non-existence in external reality.
