📖 1 min readSnatching a thing and taking it swiftly; one says 'khatifa l-shay'a yakhfutuhu' and 'ikhtatafahu yakhtatifuhu'. One says 'khatafa yakhfifu', though that is rare.
The snatching (ikhtilas) with speed.
It is seizing with speed, and 'the khatfa' is the snatching.
﴿إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌۭ ثَاقِبٌۭ﴾
« Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness]. »
