Definition Al-imsak fy al-ṣyam

Al-imsak fy al-ṣyam according to Mu'jam al-Mustalahat al-Fiqhiyya

Abstaining from eating, drinking and intercourse under specific conditions is the meaning of fasting among the jurists; there is also an abstention that is not counted as fasting. (Al-mawsu'a al-fiqhiyya 6/255).
