It is that whose attainment does not depend on examination and acquisition, whether it needs something else, such as intuition or experience, or otherwise, or needs nothing, in which case it is synonymous with the necessary (daruri); it may also mean what needs nothing at all once the mind has turned to it, and then it is

Al-bdyhy according to Dustur al-'Ulama (Al-Ahmadnagari)

It is knowledge whose attainment does not depend on examination and acquisition, such as conceiving heat and assenting that fire is hot. Further, evident assent: if conceiving its two terms suffices for asserting it, it is evident a fortiori, like assent that the whole is greater than the part; if it does not suffice, but something other than examination and acquisition is needed, such as intuition, experience, and sensation, it is still self-evident.

That whose attainment does not depend on examination and acquisition, whether it needs something else, such as intuition or experience, or not: it is then synonymous with the necessary (daruri).
