. Yaqub ibn Sufyan mentioned him among those who met the Prophet, may Allah bless him and his family and grant him peace, and Abu Umar said: I do not know of any meeting for him, except that he reached the Jahiliyya and lived until the caliphate of Uthman.

I say: It is as though he meant what al-Ala ibn az-Zubayr related on the authority of his father, who said: I saw Persia overcome the Byzantines, then I saw the Byzantines overcome Persia, then I saw the Muslims overcome Persia, all of that within fifteen years.

And Abu al-Hasan ibn Sumay mentioned him in the second generation of the Successors of the people of Syria.
