al-Harith ibn Hatib ibn 'Amr

(B S ') al-Harith ibn Hatib ibn Amr ibn Ubayd ibn Umayya ibn Zayd ibn Malik ibn Awf ibn Ibn Amr ibn Awf ibn Malik ibn al-Aws al-Ansari al-Awsi; and it is said: that he is of Banu Abd al-Ashhal, but the first is more correct; he took the kunya Abu Abd Allah, and he is the brother of Tha'laba ibn Hatib. Musa ibn Uqba mentioned him among those who were present at Badr from the Ansar, then from al-Aws, then from Banu Amr ibn Awf, then from Banu Umayya ibn Zayd.

He went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to Badr, he and his brother Abu Lubaba ibn Abd al-Mundhir, so he sent the two of them back from al-Rawha (١), and he made Abu Lubaba a commander over Medina, and gave al-Harith command over Banu Amr ibn Awf, and he assigned to the two of them their share and their reward, so they were like those who were present at it; and he was present at Siffin with Ali ibn Abi Talib رضي الله عنه.
