Biography of Abd Allah ibn A'idh ath-Thamali
He accompanied the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and settled in Syria. Abu al-Yaman al-Himsi said: Safwan ibn 'Amr narrated to me, on the authority of Abu Sufyan Muhammad ibn Ziyad al-Alhani, that Khasif ibn al-Harith said to 'Abd Allah ibn 'A'idh al-Thumali when death came to him: If you are able to meet us and inform us of what you encountered of death (do so), so he met him in his sleep after a time and said to him: Will you not inform us? So he said: We were saved, and we hardly were saved; we were saved after the things that turn one gray, and we found our Lord the best of Lords; He forgave the sins and overlooked the misdeeds, except for what was of the Ahrad, so I said: And what are the Ahrad? He said: Those who are pointed at with fingers.
