This section contains a single authentic hadith on the words of divorce. It states that «Allah has forgiven my Ummah for the thoughts that come to their minds, unless they act upon them or utter them». What is not uttered therefore produces no effect, so that a divorce kept as an inner thought does not take place until it is spoken.
