Hadiths on Utensils

This category gathers 5 hadiths (four authentic, one good) on utensils. One learns there to avoid drinking from a vessel of gold or silver, which amounts to swallowing fire from Hell. The cracked cup of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was, for its part, mended with a silver chain. Two further hadiths teach that the skin of a dead animal is purified by water and Qarazh and that a small animal roaming among people does not make the drink impure. A last one orders washing the vessel seven times when a dog drinks from it.
