Hadiths on Usurpation

Islam > Hadiths > Usurpation

2 explained prophetic hadiths on "Usurpation": Arabic text, translation, explanation and lessons, with authenticity grade and references.

Short answer

This category includes 2 authentic hadiths against usurpation. The first warns the one who seizes a Muslim's right by his oath, even if it is a twig of Arak. The second (no. 5843) states: "Whoever unjustly usurps even one handspan of land, his neck will be encircled with it down the seven earths". The image of the collar shows the gravity of usurpation in the sight of Allah, even when the seized surface is minimal. The hadiths thus establish the formal prohibition of taking the property of others by force.
