Hadiths on Sunnah Divorce and Innovative Divorce

This category gathers 3 authentic hadiths that distinguish the divorce in accordance with the Prophet's Sunnah from the innovated divorce. It shows the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) becoming angry at 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar, who had divorced his wife while she was menstruating. Another hadith states that the threefold divorce pronounced at once counted as one, in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that of Abu Bakr, and for two years of the caliphate of 'Umar. The last one addresses the offender: «Call someone to bear witness to her divorce and to her reunion, and do not do that again» (no. 58149).
