Hadiths on Seclusion for Worship in Ramadaan (I‘tikaaf)

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) used to observe during each Ramadaan a retreat of ten days, raised to twenty days in the year of his death. He invites to seclude during the last ten days after having seen “that night” then having been made to forget it. The category also warns against Satan who “circulates in the son of Adam like blood”, and welcomes the fulfillment of a vow of retreat made in the pre-Islamic era.
