Hadiths on Rulings of the Imam and Followers in Prayer

This category groups 23 hadiths on the rulings of the imam and of the one who prays behind him: who is most fit to lead, the brevity required of the imam since among the worshippers are the sick and the busy, following his movements, and straightening the rows. The principle is stated at the outset: « The Imām is appointed so that he should be followed ». One also learns that a woman who has memorized the Qur'an may lead her household, and that a blind imam was appointed to replace the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him).
