Hadiths on Menses, Postpartum Bleeding, Extra-Menses Bleeding

This category gathers 12 hadiths on the states of women: menses, postpartum bleeding and non-menstrual vaginal bleeding. It includes the case of Umm Habībah affected by non-menstrual bleeding for seven years and the order of the ritual bath, the recitation of the Qur'an by the Prophet while his wife was menstruating, and the absence of making up the prayers missed during forty days of postpartum bleeding. One hadith specifies that in case of intercourse, the man gives « one dinar or half a dinar in charity ». Added to these are the treatment of the blood stain on the garment and the conduct to adopt toward persistent discharges.
