Short answer

This section brings together eight hadiths on what Islam has abrogated of the pre-Islamic period: the prohibition of immoderation in religion, the condemnation of nushrah (counteracting magic by magic), omens, soothsaying, and sorcery, the forbidden affiliation to a father other than one's own, the words intercepted by the jinn and mixed with a hundred lies, and the nullification of the claims of blood and property inherited from the Jahiliyyah. It is stated there: "beware of immoderation in religion, for those before you were doomed because of immoderation in religion".
